Local sources reported an explosion near the “Se-Dokan” mosque in the second district of Mazar-i-Sharif. Sources add that the explosion occurred around 8:20 AM today and was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). According to sources, one woman was killed and three others were injured in the incident. The “Se-Dokan” area is predominantly inhabited by Hazaras and was the site of a deadly suicide attack in 2022, in which dozens were killed and injured. Taliban officials in Balkh have not yet commented on the explosion.
