Physicians for Human Rights recently conducted medical-legal assessments on 27 individuals deported from the U.S. to Panama. The assessments, carried out using the Istanbul Protocol, revealed that Afghans have been subjected to torture and abuse in their home country and face the risk of death if returned to Afghanistan.
