Reliable sources within the Taliban-controlled Ministry of Higher Education say that, based on a new decision, all positions held by female professors in Afghan universities have been eliminated, and they have been completely dismissed from their duties.<\/p>\n
Sources told Rawait News Agency on Sunday morning, May 11th, that the Taliban Ministry of Higher Education, through an official letter, has completely cut off all salaries and material and non-material benefits of female professors.<\/p>\n
One female professor, sending a list containing her name and some of her colleagues, confirmed that her position and salary have been terminated.<\/p>\n
After seizing power in Afghanistan, the Taliban sent all women working in government and private institutions home, but they continued to pay their salaries.<\/p>\n
However, these female professors have stated that they are shocked by the Taliban’s recent decision and are worried about how they will be able to meet the needs of themselves and their families.<\/p>\n
