Local sources in Baghlan province report that a man in the Khenjan district of the province has killed his wife, brother, and young nephew.
\nSources told Rawait News Agency on Sunday, Hamal 31 (solar calendar date), that the man is named Abdullah Safai and is a resident of the “Tel Chahar Bagh” village in Khenjan, Baghlan.
\nSources added that on the evening of Saturday, Hamal 30 (solar calendar date), Abdullah Safai first killed his young wife with an axe, and then shot and killed his 55-year-old brother, Juma Khan, and his 19-year-old nephew, Rahim, as they were returning home from the mosque.<\/p>\n
According to sources, the killer is a member of the Taliban group in Baghlan province.
\nThe sources cited domestic violence and land disputes as the motive for the killings.
\nSources stated that Abdullah Safai had also stabbed his first wife, who was pregnant with two children, to death in 1396 (solar calendar date) and had joined the Taliban group.
\nLocal Taliban officials in Baghlan have not yet commented on the matter.
