Students, teachers, and staff of the Taliban-controlled Ministry of Education report that the new uniforms ordered by Mullah Hebatullah for schools have caused economic hardship and discouragement.
\nSome students contacted the Rewayat News Agency on Wednesday, April 9, stating that these changes not only bring economic problems for families, but also discourage students from pursuing education.
\nThe Taliban Ministry of Education recently ordered that all students and teachers in public and private schools must wear white shirts and trousers along with a white turban or hat. This decision has faced widespread reactions, and many students and teachers have expressed their dissatisfaction with it.
\nOne student in Kabul city schools told Rewayat: “No one is happy with this uniform. Wearing white clothes and a turban is very difficult for me, and I get harassed by people in the streets and markets on my way to school.”<\/p>\n
On the other hand, many teachers are also concerned about the situation. One teacher said: “My students tell me that we don’t even have money for Eid clothes, so how can we get this new uniform?”
\nAnother teacher says: “Many children cannot afford these clothes, and some of them have dropped out of school.”
